MICHAEL MAZE TO HOST YOUTH TABLE TENNIS CLINICS IN SINGAPORE AS GUEST OF NORDEN SHIPPING
Clinics underline NORDEN's commitment to developing the potential of young people
SINGAPORE, DATE, 2010: NORDEN, one of Denmark's oldest internationally operating shipping companies with offices throughout the world including Singapore, has invited Michael Maze, the world's number eight table tennis player and the reigning European champion, to host a series of Youth Table Tennis Clinics in the city state for the first time ever in February.
On Tuesday 9 February, Michael will host two Table Tennis Clinics. One clinic, run in conjunction with the Singapore Sports School, a specialised independent school which provides a conducive academic and training environment for teenagers aspiring to be sports athletes, will include up to 40 budding table tennis stars from schools including Anglican High School, Hwa Chong Institution, Maris Stella High School and Raffles Girls' Secondary School, as well as a participants from the Singapore Sports School and the Singapore National Youth Team. The second event will be a Special Olympics Table Tennis Clinic in which 10 students from schools across Singapore will participate.

Born on ISeptember 1st 1981 in Fakse, Denmark, Michael Maze joined his local table tennis club at age seven. He was later selected for the Danish National Team and played in all the major youth Championships. At age 16, Michael moved to Düsseldorf in Germany to play professionally.
