Great win over Vladimir Samsonov
Hi everybody,
Hope that you are all well. Just thought I would give you a little update on my last performances.
A few weeks ago I played in the European Championships team event. Unfortunately my body wasn't fit enough to help the team in all the matches. I won the matches I played in but unfortunately it wasn't enough to move up to the best group, but I am confident that with the talent we have in Danish table tennis, it will not take long before we are back among the best teams in Europe.
Last night I played for my Russian club UMMC in the Russian league against some of our toughest rivals in the league, Gazprom. We played in front of 2000 spectators and there was a great atmosphere in the arena. I was up against one of the best European players, Vladimir Samsonov. It was a tough and exciting match, but I managed to stay cool at the end and won a 3-2 victory winning the final set by 11-8. It was a big win for me. Vladimir is one of the best Europeans ever and has won 22 pro tour tournaments and 3 European Championships.
It was a big win for me this one. I have beaten strong players before but after my long injury period I am very satisfied with how my game is developing. Beating a player like Samsonov proves that I am improving day by day. I feel very confident about the months to come and as long as the body keeps developing well, I am sure that my game will to.
All the best,
Michael
